Experience description

The visit lasts 45 minutes (of which about 20 minutes of walking) and is guided by an experienced operator who will be able to tell the story of the Horrible in an engaging way even to children. The route is very simple, unfortunately not accessible by wheelchair due to steps and small spaces. Consider the presence of exposed balconies and narrow passages that can create some discomfort for those suffering from dizziness or claustrophobia.

It is largely covered so the visit is also made in case of rain.

The site does not have a toilet.

There are no prohibitions for dogs but they should still be kept on a leash, there are narrow spaces and grates that look into the void.

The Orrido di Ponte Alto is a must for those passing through our city!

A path in the heart of a canyon, among the red rocks and the roar of the water... a short distance from the city of Trento.

The gorge near Ponte Alto has attracted inhabitants and tourists from the city of Trento since the nineteenth century. The so-called "Horrid" is a deep canyon, carved by the Fersina River over thousands of years. Here, in 1500, some of the oldest water works in the world were built, to protect the city from flooding. Two barriers give rise to magnificent 40-metre-high waterfalls that flow between the red rocks, thus creating spectacular plays of light.
